Job Description

BMO is currently sourcing for a Technical Business Analyst, GenAI / Foundational Services, to support Enterprise GenAI solutions delivery.
This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto.

Role Overview

This role supports the delivery of enterprise Generative AI solutions within a regulated banking environment, translating technical capabilities into business outcomes. The Technical Business Analyst is embedded in an agentic platform delivery pod operating in a strictly agile model, working alongside internal development and data/analytics teams and engaging commercial banking stakeholders. The focus extends beyond business requirements to documenting how capabilities are built, covering APIs, data flows, agent orchestration, observability, and guardrails. This is a 12 month engagement at 8 hours per day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and document current-state architecture, data flows, integrations, and user journeys
  • Translate requirements into functional and non-functional specifications, and manage scope and priorities
  • Maintain backlog and delivery documentation in Jira
  • Interface with development and data/analytics teams to clarify requirements and support execution
  • Design and support test cases including GenAI-specific validations, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and performance validation
  • Coordinate governance alignment including architecture review and Responsible AI compliance
  • Lead release readiness activities, stakeholder sign-off, and lessons learned

Must-Have Skills

  • 10+ years in Business Analysis or Technical Business Analysis within complex enterprise environments
  • Translating technical solutions into business requirements and user journeys
  • Strong understanding of APIs, data flows, integrations, and solution architecture
  • Working knowledge of agent orchestration, observability, and guardrails
  • Experience across the full delivery lifecycle including requirements, build support, testing, and release
  • Experience in regulated environments with risk, compliance, and governance considerations
  • Familiarity with GenAI concepts including prompts, model behaviour, and associated risks
  • Documentation of how technical capabilities are built, not business requirements alone

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience in financial services or banking
  • Exposure to GenAI or advanced analytics programs
  • Experience with Jira for backlog and delivery management
  • Familiarity with Responsible AI, security, and architecture governance processes

Ideal Candidate

  • Deep technical depth without a coding requirement, close to a developer profile combined with an understanding of business workflows
  • Prior experience embedded in an agile product or platform delivery pod rather than a project-based BA function
  • Experience engaging commercial banking stakeholders on technical delivery
  • A resume that evidences specific programs delivered and measurable outcomes rather than tool and buzzword lists

Qualifications

Familiarity with Responsible AI, security, and architecture governance processes: 0 - 5 years (Desired)
