Sr. Project Manager - CyberSecurity/AI

Job Description

BMO is currently sourcing for a Sr. Project Manager.
This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (2-3 days in office per week).

Role Overview:
The Sr. Project Manager will lead project delivery within the CyberSecurity and AI domains, supporting initiatives in a federally regulated financial institution. This role involves managing complex technical projects, driving outcomes, and ensuring alignment between business and technology teams to mitigate risks and deliver value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage CyberSecurity and AI project delivery in compliance with federal regulations.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including C-suite executives, to set and manage expectations.
• Define project scope and outcomes in collaboration with business and technology partners, adapting to changing environments.
• Develop and maintain realistic project plans, timelines, and milestones, adjusting as needed.
• Identify, escalate, and drive mitigation of project risks and issues.
• Track and control project budgets, forecast accurately, and manage scope to prevent cost overruns.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and negotiate trade-offs to support project success.

Must-Have Skills:

• Experience delivering CyberSecurity and AI projects.
• Knowledge of system architecture at a high level, SDLC, delivery methods, and integration.
• Experience working in federally regulated industries, preferably financial institutions.
• Strong stakeholder and expectation management skills, including interaction with executive leadership.
• Financial discipline in budget tracking, forecasting, and scope control.
• Risk and issue management expertise.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience simplifying complex technical and AI concepts for diverse audiences.
• Proactive problem-solving and obstacle removal capabilities.
• Ability to manage projects with unclear or evolving scope.

Ideal Candidate:

• 8-10+ years of project management experience in CyberSecurity or AI domains.
• Proven ability to negotiate and influence at the C-suite level.
• Strong outcome-focused mindset with a track record of delivering value beyond activities.
• Comfortable working in dynamic environments requiring quick adaptation and forward thinking.
