Job Description

Intro Paragraph:
BMO is currently sourcing for a Communications Specialist - Intermediate. This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (flexibility to come into office when needed).

Role Overview:
The Communications Specialist supports training and development by creating, coordinating, and delivering professional, consistent, and branded communications and learning materials. This role plays a key part in supporting training initiatives and change management programs across the bank. The position offers exposure to a broad range of business areas within the banking industry and contributes to driving engagement and promoting consistency in communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the production of internal communications and training materials.
  • Develop creative executions from concept through to full rollout.
  • Assist employees at all levels with the development of materials for various company projects following internal specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate design standards in all internally and externally produced work.
  • Support creative development, logistics, and distribution of newsletters, internal communications, and training session materials.
  • Proofread translations for bilingual French communications (bonus).

Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in communications, creative development/design, and editing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Copilot.
  • Experience participating in change management plans and utilizing communications within those plans.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, straightforward messages.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Bilingual French language skills for proofreading translations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and interface effectively with various departments.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in communications development.
  • Ability to produce quality work within limited timeframes.

Qualifications

Bilingual French language skills for proofreading translations.: 1 - 6 years (Desired)
