Job Description

BMO is currently sourcing for a Product Business Analyst – Post Trade.
This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (2-3 days in office per week).

Role Overview:
The Product Business Analyst will oversee the enhancement and development of BMO’s Post Trade Technology Platform. This role involves defining, prioritizing, and delivering solutions that improve post trade lifecycle management, risk controls, and operational efficiency across Global Markets Post Trade functions. The analyst acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure streamlined, compliant, and well-supported post trade processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the product vision and roadmap for Post Trade platforms aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end product lifecycle including planning, prioritization, delivery, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, compliance, and technology teams to gather requirements and prioritize features.
  • Translate business needs into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
  • Manage backlog and ensure timely delivery of product enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline trade capture, allocation, confirmation, and settlement processes.
  • Partner with vendor engineering teams to deliver scalable and resilient post-trade solutions.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 7+ years’ experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Middle Office, Operations, or Post Trade Technology within Capital Markets.
  • Strong knowledge of Equities, Options, Futures, and Fixed Income products and post-trade processes.
  • Experience with trade lifecycle systems, FIX protocol, and post-trade workflows.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation including process flow diagrams and data mappings.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and data analytics tools.
  • Prior experience building or enhancing Middle Office technology platforms.
  • Understanding of settlement functions for Equities, Fixed Income, Options, and Futures products.
  • Knowledge of Back Office settlement interfaces and SWIFT MT message mapping.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple business units.
  • Experience driving process optimization and automation in post-trade environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering technology solutions that improve operational transparency and risk controls.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data quality and reporting improvements.

Qualifications

Prior experience building or enhancing Middle Office technology platforms: 0 - 5 years (Desired)
Product Management, Business Analysis, Middle Office, Operations, or Post Trade Technology within Capital Markets: 7 - 7 years (Required)
